Duties of qualified plumber include the following:
-Reading drawings, and specifications to determine layout of water supply, pipes, and venting systems.
-Fault finding in plumbing appliances and systems, and correctly diagnosing what caused it and rectifying the faults.
-Installing, repairing and maintaining domestic, commercial, and industrial plumbing fixtures and systems.
-Sorting out and marking positions for pipe passage holes, and sanitary fixings in walls and floors.
-Measuring, cutting, bending plastic and copper pipes, and threading low carbon steel pipes using hand and power tools and threading machines -Joining pipes and fittings using soldering, brazing techniques, compression fittings, LCM fittings, and push-fit plastic fittings.
-Installing valves, shower pumps, sump pumps, water meters, radiators, taps, kitchen sinks, washbasins, WC, bath, jacuzzi, central heating systems, electric and gas boilers, storage heaters, hot water cylinders, immersion heaters, thermostats, control circuitry, gas pipes, gas boilers, water chillers, macerators etc.
-Cleaning blocked waste pipes and sanitary fittings.
-Record pipeline video for inspection of a sewers or drains.
-Testing water pipes and waste pipes for leaks using air and water pressure testers and relevant testing techniques.
-Be proficient in legal regulations and safety including Gas Requirements.
-Adhering to the relevant safety standards and building regulations.
